Noone is perfect which makes us special

Have you ever had a reaction to something and thought where in the heck did that come from? And then you try to analyze it and sometimes you come up with a logical answer and other times you are just plain stumped? The beauty of it all is that we are unique individuals with very unique qualities, personalities, strengths, gifts and areas that we just are not perfect. And that is such a wonderful thing that we are not perfect. It gives us all a chance to grow and strive to be better. And we will continue to stumble, but the key is to pick yourself up and keep going forward. Looking backwards is go for a little bit, but not too long. Life's journey marches forward so we need to keep looking forward and embrace our uniqueness and special qualities. Our little quirks is what makes us unique and definitely people who know you, embrace those little quirks. And sometimes the gifts you may have are usually a strength but sometimes they can be a weakness too. The key is to focus on the strength of the gift and use this strength to avoid the weakness or minimize it.

The bottom line we are human beings with human emotions and sometimes we make sense and sometimes we don't...and that is what makes life an interesting little journey....

How do I make Lemonade out of this one?

Normally my posts are about happy feelings and appreciation. Today we buried my cousin who ended his own life at the age of 44. It was a very moving ceremony attended by lots of people who cared about him from friends, family and coworkers. So, how does one make lemonade out of this tragedy?

For someone to end their own life, there must be excruciating pain and so I guess I'm happy that my cousin's pain has ended. He is definitely more at peace than when he was here with us, so for that I am grateful.

I am grateful for my loving family that was deeply moved and bond together to help my aunt get through this devastating time.

We know my cousin is in a better place and for that I'm grateful. I am grateful to have had a very calm and tranquil life and to not battle mental illness. I am very thankful for my healthy peace of mind and though life isn't always a bowl of cherries, I have wonderful support to get me through anything.

May be cousin rest in peace....for that I am thankful.

Being Content

What is to be content? Many people define it differently but I will just confine the definition to what I describe it to. It's when things are happy and there is a little spring in your step. It's about looking around and being grateful about all the things wonderful in your life and not really having anything spectacular happen. It's understanding what is important and not having lots of drama or chaos in your life and enjoying simple little pleasures such as a wonderful family, wonderful friends and a wonderful job. We create our environment which is very empowering and all of us can create a more content life. Life goes up and down, but I can say that I'm relishing the feeling of contentment right now....

Happy Valentine's Day!

I love Valentine's Day! And since I love Valentine's day so much, I've been announcing it for the last couple of weeks to friends and coworkers. And what is funny is that I often get this odd look as to why Valentine's is such a great day? From the happily married couples to the new budding relationships to people who are single, it is just a happy and positive day to fill the heart and a day with lots of love and positive thoughts. It represents goodness and appreciation towards loved ones, friends and family and that is what life is all about. It's the one day out of the year, that most of the world has warm thoughts of love towards others. What a truly special day!!

To me, it's not what gift is bought or perhaps the pressure of what to do to make the day special, it's about mutual appreciation and that special little smile that only a few people know about the other....and that is free......

Happy Valentine's day to all! May today be filled with lots of love, hugs and kisses!!

New Year and a New Decade!

What an exciting time to enter into a new year and a new decade! A new year is a time for yearly resolutions and feeling that inspiration that comes along this time of year! But a new decade is a wonderful time to reflect on the past decade's accomplishments and how things have changed. In the year 2000, I wouldn't have imagined all the things that happened in my life! I am thoroughly excited about the next decade and all the wonderful things in store! Is it all going to perfect and rosy? No, but there will be memorable experiences and lessons to be learned that I'm looking forward to deal with. My main decade resolution is to be retired by the year 2020! We shall see if this indeeds occurs. And of course, be always appreciative of my family, friends, job and all the new people that come into my life.
